Congregation Ohev Shalom welcomes new youth director, Jayme Epstein

The leadership of Congregation Ohev Shalom is pleased to announce the hiring of Jayme Epstein as youth director.

Epstein grew up between Westchester, New York, and Dallas, Texas, and has been in Orlando for eight years. She graduated from Texas Tech University with Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing and Accounting. A little over three years ago, Epstein made the switch from Marketing to Jewish youth work. She spent the last three years working as the regional director for BBYO North Florida Region. Epstein is currently pursuing her master's in Jewish Education from the William Davidson School at the Jewish Theological Seminary. In these strange times, Epstein is striving to find ways to help Jewish youth stay connected to their Judaism as well as each other. She hopes to grow the youth programs at Ohev through unique and experiential programs that enrich the participants lives. Epstein is thrilled to be a part of the Ohev family, and cannot wait to see where this experience takes her.

The leadership of Congregation Ohev Shalom has always set a priority of serving its youth. It is evident in a time when many organizations and businesses are reducing staff, a full-time youth director has been hired. Ohev Shalom is proud of its active Olim, Kadima and USY youth groups.

COS USY is open to all Jewish 9th-12th graders regardless of synagogue membership.

"We are looking forward to having Jayme use her skills, knowledge and experience to take our youth groups to the next level," said Amy Geboff, director of Youth and Family Education.

Epstein will also oversee DDD, which is the formal Jewish education program for 8th-12th graders; have a role in MACHANEH OHEV; facilitate Tikun Olam opportunities; and institute new ideas.

For more information about Congregation Ohev Shalom and it's youth programs, please contact Jayme at 407-298-4650 or youth@ohevshalom.org.
