Obituary - PHYLLIS LIEBLICH

Submitted by the family

Longwood: Phyllis Lieblich passed away on Aug. 20, 2020 peacefully at home. She was born March 7, 1932, in New York, New York. She was predeceased by her husband, Severyn "Bernie" Lieblich.

Phyllis attended Hunter College following her graduation from William Howard Taft High School in The Bronx, New York. She married Bernie in 1953 and they raised their two children in New York and New Jersey before moving to Florida in retirement.

Phyllis and Bernie moved to Village on the Green in Longwood in 2007, which, as Bernie said, was "the best decision they ever made." Phyllis volunteered her time there serving as president of the Resident Council and an officer of the Brede-Wilkins Fund, among other activities. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. She was a jovial character and known by her sincere caring for everyone she met, always greeting new and old friends with a big smile.

Phyllis is survived by her sons, Stuart (and partner Lisabeth Shlansky), Mark (and spouse Cathy Lieblich); grandchildren - Brett, Margot, Stephanie (and spouse Dennis Mero) and Jessica; along with loving nieces and nephews.

Her family especially wants to express their appreciation to the warm friends she had at Village on the Green. They made her and Bernie's last years especially memorable.

For those who are so inclined, a donation can be made by check payable to the Central Florida Foundation with "for Brede-Wilkins Scholarship Fund in memory of Phyllis Lieblich" and mailed to Central Florida Foundation, 800 Magnolia Avenue, Suite 1200, Orlando FL 32803.
