Obituary - RUTH LEHMAN GOLDHAR

Ruth L. “Billie” Goldhar, age 96, passed away peacefully at Village on the Green HealthCare Center, Longwood, on Saturday evening, Aug. 29, 2020. Billie was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Sept. 28, 1923, to the late Joseph and Naomi Duckman Lehman. Billie attended college and worked as an administrative assistant for the State of Florida following the family’s move to Florida in 1956. Her husband, David Goldhar, predeceased her in February 2005. Billie was an active member of the Jewish Pavilion and Rishona Hadassah. She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Sharon Flatow of Lake Mary and Jaclyn (Rabbi Moshe) Elbaz of Valdosta, Ga .; her grandchildren Sandra Flatow, Michael Flatow, Shuli (Gabriel) Mesa, Yamit (Adam) Rashkind and Jonathan Elbaz. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren — Noah, Jonah, Evyn and Elijah Mesa and Ethan, David and Ari Rashkind.

In memory of Ruth “Billie” Goldhar, the family requests contributions to The Jewish Pavilion and Hadassah.

A private funeral was held at Temple Israel Cemetery, Gotha, with Rabbi Joshua Neely officiating.
