Central Florida's Independent Jewish Voice
Ariel Benjamin Osteen, born Feb. 13, 1990, beloved son of Michal and David Osteen, cherished brother of Talia and Yoni, adored uncle of Elliott and Liam, and dear friend to many, passed away on Monday, Nov. 2, 2020. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, his love of people and of nature; for his brilliant smile, shining eyes, inquisitive mind, empathic soul, and open heart. It was his life's work to save lives, and he succeeded in this as a friend and as a First Responder.
The salve for his family's shattered hearts is the gratitude they hold for the 30 years of joy, laughter, thoughtfulness, and love that Ari gave. The Osteens extend their gratitude to this beautiful Orlando community that Ari loved so much. The love, support, and tributes to him from this extended family, and from those around the world whose lives he impacted, are deeply appreciated.
The family asks that those who would like to honor his memory continue his work of Tikun Olam, healing the world. Charitable contributions may be made to the International Rescue Committee or American Jewish World Service to honor his dedication to helping those in need. He will live on through the lives he saved and touched. May we carry him in our hearts and actions.
Listen to strangers. Live with compassion. Connect. Love.
