The nights may be getting longer, but they are also about to get a whole lot brighter.
On Dec. 13, children will gather on ZOOM or in person at Chabad of North Orlando to spread light all over town in a new interactive Chanukah event.
Children will embark on a scavenger hunt journey, discovering Chanukah's message and experiencing the miracle of Chanukah in their own lives - how good conquers evil and light conquers darkness.
"The best way to make a message stick is through experience," said Chanshy Majesky, co-director of Chabad Lubavitch of North Orlando. "The ancient story of the Jewish nation's Chanukah victory holds inspiring lessons relevant to our modern times.
This Chabad CKids Club uses hands-on activities to bring those themes to life.
When the club is over, the spirit of Chanukah will travel on with each child. Children will get to keep their exquisitely packaged dreidel sculptures and each child will also prepare a unique gift for a special friend - the gift of light.
At Chabad of North Orlando, safety is a top priority. For the in-person program everyone will wear masks, and we will supply lots of hand sanitizer.
For those participating virtually, the club will be fully interactive, coming along with personal packages and mini guidebooks so kids can participate from home.
The Chanukah experience is made possible by CKids Club International, an initiative that inspires children to make a meaningful impact in their communities through educational programs exploring the richness of Judaism.
Limited spots available. Sign up today at JewishNorthOrlando.com/Ckids. Designed for ages 5 to 13, the event will be held at Nate's Shul 1701 Markham Woods Road in Longwood on Dec. 13 at 10 a.m.
