Yard displays are a sign of the times

Starting a business in the age of Covid may sound risky but a Winter Park couple, Evan and Susanne Roberts, saw it as an opportunity. They launched Sign Greeters, a company that installs large, cheerful yard greetings for customers who have something to celebrate or promote. "Basically, we do anything from birthdays to anniversaries to welcome back to school," said Evan Roberts.

Surprisingly, the coronavirus hasn't been a hindrance, explained Evan. "If anything, social isolation has helped us," he said. "People can't do large gatherings, so they are thinking outside the box. Putting our signs in their yards helps them celebrate special occasions."

The couple acquired franchise rights for Winter Park, Maitland, Baldwin Park, College Park and surrounding communities. Customers can order on the Sign Greeters website and specify the greeting they want and the date. After a rental fee is paid, the sign will be installed with the greeting/message requested in bold, colorful lettering and art work.

"Whatever we can do to help people celebrate, or get the word out about an event, we want to be there to help them," said Susanne. "Just get on the SignGreeters.com website and we'll take it from there."
