Central Florida's Independent Jewish Voice
The community is invited to join Congregation Ohev Shalom in honoring Cantor Allan Robuck's 30 years of service and dedication to the synagogue at the COS Gala on Sunday, March 6, 2022. The evening's highlight will be "From Bimah to Broadway," a concert by world-renowned vocalist and recording artist Cantor Azi Schwartz.
Cantor Schwartz is the senior cantor of Park Avenue Synagogue, the largest Conservative community in New York City and the flagship of Jewish liturgical music in North America. A soulful and gifted vocalist as well as a dynamic entertainer, Cantor Schwartz has performed in concerts and interfaith missions around the world and has released nine studio albums of traditional and newly commissioned Jewish liturgical music.
Cantor Schwartz's special appearance was arranged in honor of Cantor Robuck's love of Jewish liturgy. Over the past 30 years, in addition to leading the congregation in prayer with incomparable charm and humor, Cantor Robuck recorded an album of Jewish music with Rabbi David Kay and also mentored the Visions trio of singers and produced their top-selling recordings of Jewish music and tours of Jewish communities in the U.S. and abroad.
Cantor Robuck is also a fan of popular show tunes, and the "From Bimah to Broadway" concert will have an audience-pleasing mix of sacred and secular music.
This entertaining evening will begin with cocktails and appetizers, followed by a dinner catered by Arthur's and then Cantor Azi Schwartz's concert. Community members are welcome to become sponsors of the event or purchase tickets, as long as seats are available. For further information, contact the Ohev Shalom office at 407-298-4650.
