RAISE March Employees of the Month

Michael - the JCC Welcome Center and Jewish Academy of Orlando

At the JCC, Michael's upbeat personality and gregarious nature make him the perfect fit for working in the Welcome Center. Michael greets everyone he sees in the JCC lobby. He helps with data entry, keeping the glass entry doors free of handprints, scanning documents, and other office duties.

At the Jewish Academy, Michael works as an assistant in the library. He helps to reshelve returned books, label and stamp new books, gathers books for special programs and holidays, and keeps the library neat and organized.

Michael has shown growth in his ability to read social cues and to accept feedback from his job coaches. Michael is learning how to be his own advocate and ask for help when needed. He has also shown that he can be flexible.

At Lunch and Learn Michael is an active participant. He always answers questions and participates in all discussions and activities. He also helps to remind Rachel to sign timesheets. Michael makes sure to greet all of his co-workers and ask them how they are doing.

Michael's outgoing personality and strong work ethic make him a valuable employee.

Mildred -Congregation Ohev Shalom, Jewish Academy Art Room, and most recently added Kinneret Senior Living facility

At Ohev, Mildred has the important responsibilities of serving snack to over 100 students and teachers each Wednesday. This has given Mildred the opportunity to interact with a variety of people and to be assertive when students try to get more snacks.

At Jewish Academy, Mildred works as an art teacher assistant. She helps the students with their art projects, redirects them when they are frustrated, and assists the art teacher in preparing materials needed for the day.

At Kinneret, Mildred helps in their resident run store, assists with special programs, and sells ice cream to the residents. Mildred enjoys talking with the residents and they all love her.

Mildred has shown tremendous responsibility for responding herself to all emails, and for keeping her calendar organized. She has learned how to self advocate and ask for help when needed.

Mildred has demonstrated independence at her jobs and is working almost entirely without a job coach. Her pleasant demeanor and good manners make her a joy to be with.

Mildred always comes to Lunch and Learn with a smile on her face, a willingness to learn and to help other employees.
