Have fun while making an impact in this club

Chabad of Altamonte Springs started a new program. It's called the Family Mitzvah Club. The first program, "Impactful Packing," was held Sunday, Feb. 19. Spearheaded by Jennifer Estar Mesika and Sarah Jean-Baptiste in memory of their mother, Beth Mesika, the group put together packages and delivered them to a local homeless shelter, and learned about the work that they do. And they all had a great time packing and delivering the items.

"What a special morning filled with generosity and kindness!," said Rabbi Bronstein. "Thank you to everyone who joined our first Family Mitzvah Club event!

The shelter the group went to is called Family Promise of Greater Orlando.

The impact the Family Mitzvah Club had went beyond just delivering packages to the shelter.

"We heard a presentation of what they do, and that in addition to housing, they help individuals who are struggling with homelessness find work. After the presentation, three members of the community came over to me that they would be willing to partner with the shelter and hire people in their businesses," Rabbi Bronstein said.
