Barbara Baker Haberman was born on April 8, 1940 to Reuben and Millie Baker in London, England. After having lived in Israel for a couple of years in her early 20s, Barbara moved to the United States in 1962. There she met the love of her life, Julius Haberman, outside of the Boston Jewish Community Center. They married on Nov. 27, 1963. They had four children and enjoyed traveling the world, playing tennis, and dancing. When Julie passed away on Nov. 30, 2017, Barbara’s heart was broken. She was finally reunited with him on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023. She was also predeceased by her brother, Joe Baker.
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Sherri Haberman Tarr (Matthew), Lisa Haberman Graybill (Billy), Stacy Haberman Ochoa (Gabriel) and Robb Haberman (Julie Kim). Barbara has five grandchildren — Jared Silber (Nicola), Joshua Tarr (Katelyn Hebel), Kayla Tarr, Reese Ochoa and Kate Ochoa. She was predeceased by her doting dog, Precious, and is survived by her devoted companion dog, Timmy.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023 at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi David Kay officiating.
