LT JG Charles H. Schulman, 91, passed away peacefully Sept. 30, 2023, at his Casselberry, Florida home with family at his side. Charles was born Nov. 23, 1931, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Samuel and Flora (Frank) Schulman. He and his wife, Edith, moved to the Central Florida area in 1958 coming from Tullahoma, Tennessee. Charles retired as an Electrical Engineer from Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin) after 34 years, and a proud United States Navy Veteran.
Charles had an active life in retirement. He volunteered to do electrical work for Habitat for Humanity and served on their selection committee. He volunteered for the Seminole County Sheriff’s department as a “constable on patrol,” which involved helping with traffic control, school crossings, and patrolling neighborhoods. He walked half-marathons throughout Florida with his daughter, and he and his wife ran bridge games in Orlando and aboard cruise ships.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Edith (Lefkovits) Schulman of Casselberry, Florida; his devoted son, Mark (Susan) Schulman of Oviedo, Florida; and loving daughter, Karen (Keith) Schilit of Tampa, Florida; his beloved grandchildren — Heather, Nathaniel, Jordan, Bradley; and his great-grandchildren, Fritz and Eddie.
Funeral Services for Charles Schulman with military honors were held in the Burton & Barbara Chasnov Pavilion at Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi Merrill Shapiro officiating. May he rest in peace and may his memory always be a blessing.
