Shayna's Village is expanding

A major expansion of Shayna’s Village programming is underway and will use the JCC’s former “youth wing,” renamed Heller Family Grove, thanks to the generosity of the Heller Family.

Karen Duncan will continue to lead Shayna’s Village programming, along with two new additions to the team: Karen Spector, senior director of Education and Engagement for Shayna’s Village; and Stefani Rabideaux, Shayna’s Village social media and Art director.

Shayna’s Village will continue to offer parenting classes and programs, and with the expansion, the new Shayna’s Village at Heller Family Grove will provide professional support from specialty therapists, a teaching kitchen, a sensory room, an art and music studio, a baby lab, and a parenting lounge.

The generous donors include:

The Heller Family - Heller Family Grove (formerly the “youth” wing)

The Presser-Cohen Family - The Parent Lounge & Baby Lab

Mid-Florida Endodontics - The Music Studio

The Yarmuth Family/Sonny’s BBQ - The Teaching Kitchen

The Isaacs Family Trust - The Atelier (located in the Richard S. Adler Early Childhood Learning Center)

While there is not an official launch date yet, construction has begun. Rabideaux will be sharing regular updates on the new construction. Please click on the link below to follow Shayna’s Village on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.

Shayna’s Village, formerly Shalom Orlando’s parenting center, was created to honor the memory of Shayna Cai Presser, with the Presser-Cohen family’s continual generosity. Since its rebirth in 2007, under the leadership of Duncan, Shayna’s Village has provided invaluable parenting support and enrichment for families.
