Chabad of Altamonte Springs continues to actively stand in solidarity with Israel, reinforcing its commitment to the Israeli people through a remarkable series of initiatives that engage the local community. This coordinated effort is a testament to the power of unity, compassion, and shared values that Chabad of Altamonte Springs, like the rest of the Chabad centers in Orlando, embody.
On Oct. 9, Chabad of Altamonte Springs hosted an “Evening of Prayer and Solidarity” that brought together the local community and public officials. The event was an opportunity for residents to join together in prayer and express their unwavering support for Israel, emphasizing the importance of shared values and shared responsibility.
Oct. 12 marked a significant joint initiative with other Chabad Hebrew schools in the area, as well as the Jewish Academy of Orlando. Students from these schools gathered at the Roth Family JCC and collaborated in a heartwarming event featuring prayer, Torah study, and acts of charity. A particularly touching moment was when the children wrote letters to IDF soldiers, accompanied by their own personal mitzvah commitments, as a token of their respect and appreciation.
A “Women’s Unity Challah Bake” held on Oct. 19 drew more than 50 women from the community. The event not only showcased the art of challah baking but also served as a symbol of unity and sisterhood among women. During this event, Mussie Bronstein, co-director of Chabad of Altamonte Springs, discussed the three unique mitzvot for women: challah, Shabbat candles, and family purity. This discussion emphasized the importance of these mitzvot, particularly during these challenging times.
On Oct. 24, Chabad of Altamonte Springs hosted a “Preschool Pajama and Pizza Party” with a “Rally for Israel,” specially designed for preschoolers and young families. This event instilled the love for Israel in the hearts of the youngest members of the community.
Adding to this impressive roster of events, a large community gathering took place at Lake Eola on Oct. 15, which was hosted collectively by all the Chabad centers of Orlando. With hundreds in attendance, the event served as a poignant reminder of the unity and shared values among the various Chabad centers, working together to support Israel and the Jewish community.
In addition to these community events, Chabad of Altamonte Springs has initiated a fundraising drive, with over $5,000 already having been sent directly to soldiers on the front lines. People are encouraged to contribute to this crucial effort at www.JewishAltamonte.com/IDF to support the brave soldiers protecting Israel.
These initiatives and the fundraising drive reflect the unwavering commitment of Chabad of Altamonte Springs to support Israel and its people, strengthening the bond between the local community and Israel. As Rabbi Mendy Bronstein of Chabad of Altamonte Springs emphasized, “Our goal is to create a sense of unity, compassion, and a shared commitment to Israel within our community, as well as how through strengthening ourselves spiritually with the performance of Mitzvot, we can provide spiritual strength to our brothers and sisters in Israel. These events and initiatives showcase our dedication to fostering that connection.”
