Neal Blaher sent this email out to update what has happened with Noah’s GoFundMe:
(1) The GoFundMe Campaign through which you may have made a donation has been cancelled for the reasons previously mentioned, namely, the military purpose of Noah’s fundraiser. Whether this rule is new and a product of what is now happening in Israel I don’t know, and it really doesn’t matter at this point.
(2) Those who made donations will receive refunds in 1 to 3 business days. Refunds should include the hefty fee they charge. If not, please let me know so I can take care of it.
(3) Thanks to our dear friend Ina Porth, we have a new, Israeli Fund Me platform. She directed me to a Fundraising campaign for soldiers in Noah’s position who are in need of vests and helmets. However, I checked with them, and there is no way to use what they have raised to direct it specifically to Noah’s unit.
(4) I therefore have just started our own Fundraising Campaign for Noah’s unit. I have a link, but it may not actively accept donations for a few hours, so keep trying throughout the day on Thursday (November 2). Link is below.
(5) FYI, this platform doesn’t share the greed of GoFundMe. The only fees are the 2-3 percent fees charged by the credit card companies, but I believe even those can be avoided through more modern payment methods, which they accept.
(6) As before, I will try to answer your questions as best (and as fast) as I can. Email: njblaher@yahoo.com.
(7) Noah’s unit is still awaiting deployment, but I am told that the activity level may be increasing up there.
