Yvette Wentziger Bressler, 85, passed away peacefully in Winter Park, Fla., on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Yvette born Aug. 12, 1938, to Simone and Francoise Wentziger in Paris, France. She graduated from Girls Latin High School 1956 and attended Mary Brooks College for interior decor, both in Boston.
She married her husband of 60 years, Sidney W. Bressler, in 1960 in Cambridge, Mass., after meeting at their place of work at Gilchrist Department Store in Boston.
In 1959, Yvette moved to Orlando, to begin her career in the drapery business, where she co-owned Southland Drapery with her husband. They moved to Dommerich Estates in Maitland, Fla., in April 1965.
Yvette was the most sought-after interior decorator in Orlando from 1960 to the early 1990s. She decorated many homes with custom draperies. She had an eye for color and a love of fabrics. Yvette enjoyed power walking with her Walkman, horseback riding, French cooking, needlepoint, reading, black/white movies, dining out, and shopping. She was a great mother with a joie de vivre like no other. The most joy she received was the birth of her first grandchild, Emma, in 2008, who she was able to spoil unconditionally.
Yvette is survived by her daughter, Hillary Bressler; son Brett (Monica) Bressler; grandchildren, Emma and Levi Bressler, and Benjamin and Brockton; sister, Francoise Mannix and over 50 family members in France. Preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Claudine Urban.
Funeral services were held at St Margart Mary Catholic Church at 526 N Park Ave, Winter Park, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Yvette Bressler may be directed to the Alzheimer Association.
