Community event to support children battling cancer

The PJ Library and the Jewish Chamber of Commerce will partner to present a special child-friendly mitzvah project benefiting Rosie’s Adventures Childhood Cancer Foundation. This event will take place on July 14 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and is designed to bring families together for a day of creativity, compassion, and community service.

A day of crafting for a cause

The event invites families to participate in making crafts and bracelets that will be donated to children battling cancer. These handmade items aim to brighten the hospital rooms and lift the spirits of young patients undergoing treatment. This heartwarming activity not only brings joy to the children receiving the crafts but also teaches the participating children the value of kindness and giving back to their community.

Band-Aid Drive

In addition to the craft-making activities, attendees are encouraged to bring fun and decorative Band-Aids. These Band-Aids will be collected and donated to hospitals, adding a touch of fun and comfort to the medical care of young patients. The initiative is a simple yet impactful way for families to contribute to the well-being of children facing health challenges.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Rosie’s Adventures, a foundation dedicated to supporting children with cancer and their families. The foundation provides various forms of assistance, including emotional support, educational resources, and recreational activities to help children cope with the difficulties of cancer treatment.
