Successful summer event hosted by Herut of Clermont

Clermont Herut held a successful summer event at Waterfront Park on Sunday, June 30, with over 75 people attending. A highlight of the event was the table of culinary creations from Sabbaba Market of Altamonte Springs. Attendees came from areas such as Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Leesburg, Four Corners and The Villages.

A vast selection of Mediterranean and Kosher food was available to try and buy, and the tastes kept on coming throughout the event.

At 2 p.m. the able bodied and fighting fit made their way outside for Krav Maga taught by Victory Martial Arts of Clermont. Adults and children took part in a free self-defense class taught by Kevin Frank, who had a great family friendly approach to his lesson and demonstration.

Clermont Herut representative Martin Beck was pleased with the event and said "The number of people attending was slightly higher than expected and the best part was seeing the families getting involved with Martial Arts, learning useful skills".

Inside, the event hosted various charity stalls and a display included pictures of 'Tours of Israel' to partner with the 'Tastes of Israel' on the other side of the room. Books by Israeli author Rafael Cohen Soae were also on display.

Other display tables at the event had fun and interactive activities for kids and adults such as; game wheels, coloring stations and a prize giveaway of a Visa gift card. One group came to demonstrate Challah bread being made.

The team from Shaan Saar Krav Maga of Orlando were present giving expert advice on Krav Maga and Self Defense. The Shaan Saar Security Group provides high end training and security consultancy across the globe.

An attendee asked one of the organizers "when is your next event?" She continued with excitement "we should have an event every month!"

Herut supports Jewish people worldwide, supports Israel, provides education, training and created the Synagogue Security Toolkit.
