Dr. Bernard Norman Gotlib, 96, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully July 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Dr. Gotlib was born May 13,1928 in Bangor, Maine to the Abraham and Sarah (Nathanson) Gotlib of blessed memory. Dr. Gotlib graduated from the University of Maine and University of Vermont Medical School before completing his ENT training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear in Boston. They lived most of their married lives and raised their children in Longmeadow, Massachusetts they moved to the Altamonte Springs, Florida area in 2014 after retirement. He was an avid lover of classical music and a talented clarinetist. He was a member of Congregation Ohev Shalom. He was a captain in the medical corps with the United States Air Force.
Dr. Gotlib is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Samra (Shamash) Gotlib of Altamonte Springs, Florida; devoted children, Andrew Gotlib of Springfield, Massachusetts, Richard (Anne Wang) Gotlib of Northport, New York, Daniel (Stacy) Gotlib of Sanford, Florida and Joshua (Robin) Gotlib of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister, Estelle Shammash of Dedham, Massachusetts; and beloved grandchildren - Alita, Olivia, Emma, Benjamin. He is pre-deceased by his son Kenneth Gotlib of blessed memory.
Funeral Services for Dr. Gotlib were held at the Burton & Barbara Chasnov Pavilion at Ohev Shalom Cemetery (6034 Old Winter Garden Road, Orlando) with Rabbi David Kay officiating. Honors rendered by MacDill Air Force Base Honor Guard.
