Second annual  'Rolene's Shabbos'

On Friday, Aug. 2, Chabad of North Orlando will kick off its second annual "Rolene's Shabbos" in loving memory of Rolene Hunter Z"L.

Rolene, was the first to become a member of Chabad Lubavitch of North Orlando's Jewish  Legacy Society by remembering the Longwood Chabad in her will and leaving a portion of her estate to help ensure a Jewish tomorrow. "Rolene was taken from us way too soon but she will forever remain in our hearts. Honoring her with this special Shabbos is the least we can do to honor her memory with our community members, who are all benefiting from her kindness" said Rabbi Yanky Majesky.

Chanshy Majesky, co-director at Chabad, added "Though as an individual we may pass on, the community lives forever - Am Yisrael Chai - by leaving the community in her will, her memory lives on forever! We love you and miss you, Rolene, and we will never forget you! Thank you for what you have done and indeed continue to do for the community!»

In honor of "Rolene's Shabbos" Chabad will be hosting world-renowned Chazzan, Cantor Levi Kaplan. Kaplan began his career in Chazanut at age 11, studied voice, music theory with renown experts in NYC and studied Nusach HaTefilah with Cantor Noach Schall. He is a sought-after cantor and directs the Council of Chabad Cantors.

Rabbi Cantor Kaplan will lead the prayers at Nate's Shul, 1701 Markham Woods Road in Longwood, starting with Kabalas Shabbos services on Friday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. and lead a Mincha, Nigunim (Soulful Melodies) and Havdalah on Shabbos, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. The entire community is invited and there's no cost to attend but you must RSVP at http://www.JewishNorthOrlando.com/Chazzan.

Reservations closes on Tuesday, July 30. Sponsors of $360 and above will be invited for a private dinner with the Chazzan together with members of our Jewish Legacy Society (www.JewishNorthOrlando.com/JewishLegacySociety) and Chabad's Chai Founders (www.JewishNorthOrlando.com/ChaiClub).
