Jewish Pavilion Sponsor Breakfast reflects on past, looks to future

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, Jewish Pavilion Senior Services hosted a Sponsors Breakfast at Allegro Winter Park, bringing together 40 attendees, including sponsors, board members, and staff.

Nancy Ludin, CEO of Jewish Pavilion Senior Services, began by acknowledging the significance of the date - 9/11 - reflecting on the tragic events of that day and the ongoing threat of terrorism worldwide. She also addressed the recent terrorist attack in Israel on Oct. 7, where innocent lives were lost at a peace festival, emphasizing the pain and challenges of confronting such violence. Ludin reminded the attendees that the High Holidays are a time for deep reflection, calling upon everyone to strive for a better and more peaceful world.

Susan Bernstein, Senior Program director, added a special touch to the morning by blowing the shofar. She explained that the sound of the shofar serves as an awakening, encouraging everyone to be better people in the new year. It was a poignant reminder of the spirit of renewal and self-improvement that characterizes the High Holiday season.

The breakfast also served as a meaningful gathering for Jewish Pavilion's sponsors, highlighting the importance of community and the shared mission of supporting seniors. It was a powerful start to the New Year, blending the traditions of the season with a renewed commitment to building a kinder, more compassionate world.

Jewish Pavilion Senior Services continues to bring comfort and connection to seniors in the community, supported by the generosity of sponsors and the dedication of its staff and board members.
