After the cancellation of last year's Men's Night Out due to the Oct. 7 attack, the organizing committee and sponsors decided to go forward with the Eighth annual Men's Night Out, to be held at Congregation Ohev Shalom on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Organized and presented by Congregation Ohev Shalom, Temple Israel, Congregation of Reform Judaism, Southwest Orlando Jewish Congregation, in conjunction with Shalom Orlando, Men's Night Out is a collaborative outreach program and a "community driven" gathering designed to bring all affiliated and unaffiliated Jewish men in the Orlando community together to share their common bond, learn about community opportunities and benefit Jewish education. The evening will include a kosher prime rib dinner (chicken and vegetarian options available), appetizers, top-shelf liquor (open bar), headliners (including beer tasting and blackjack/poker tables), and musical entertainment during the cocktail hour.
Since 2017, Men's Night Out has raised more than $60,000 to support religious schools, Jewish education, Jewish camps and youth groups, and trips to Israel, all life-defining Jewish experiences. The funds are directed to participating synagogues to use in these areas as they see fit.
"The kids are the beneficiaries of the event, and the level of schmoozing and camaraderie increases every year," said Elliott Davis, an organizer of the event.
Men's Night Out will be held at Congregation Ohev Shalom, 613 Concourse Pkwy South, Maitland. Cocktails, appetizers and headliners will be served at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:15 p.m.
Tickets are $136 (or $150 at the door). Sponsorship opportunities are available. Please refer to the QR code on the invitation or flyer to register. For more information, please call Elliott Davis at 561-573-5779 or email him at elliottdavis613@gmail.com.
