Central Florida's Independent Jewish Voice

The man behind the 9/11 victim fund

The Maccabee Bar Association of Florida is hosting a virtual event open and free to nonmembers featuring Ken Feinberg, author of “What is Life Worth?” Known for his transformative work on the high-profile 9/11 compensation cases, he will discuss insights on valuing personal injuries and lives.

It will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, at noon on zoom.

Ken Feinberg is a man with a deep sense of equity, and fairness, based on a value system learned in his Jewish household. He has an endless supply of wisdom to share and is not afraid to address any question or issue we want to raise.

Feinberg served as the Chief of Staff to Senator Ted Kennedy and Special Master of the U.S. September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, TARP Executive Compensation and the government-appointed administrator for the BP Deepwater Horizon Disaster Victim Compensation Fund. Feinberg was one of the three arbitrators to determine the fair market value of the Zapruder film of the Kennedy assassination and was one of two arbitrators who determined the allocation of legal fees in the Holocaust slave labor litigation.

The 2020 film “Worth,” starring Michael Keaton and Stanley Tucci, is based on Feinberg and his incredible efforts.

A Zoom link will be provided for those who sign up for the event. You may RSVP to Steve Eichenblatt seichenblatt@floridalawonline.com.
