Dr. Randall "Randy" B. Coverman, M.D., a cherished husband, father, and esteemed dermatologist, passed away peacefully at his home in Longwood, Florida, on Dec. 6, 2024. Born on March 15, 1950, in Bucyrus, Ohio, Randy was the beloved son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Louis Coverman. Randy's academic journey led him to the University of Miami Medical School, where he earned his medical degree. He further honed his expertise in dermatology through a residency at UCLA, followed by specialized training with Dr. Frederic Mohs, reflecting his deep commitment to advancing skin cancer treatment. Randy's dedication to his field culminated in the establishment of a thriving dermatology practice in Altamonte Springs, Florida, where he proudly became the first dermatologist in Central Florida to offer MOHS Surgery. Known for his remarkable sense of humor, kindness, and compassion, Randy was deeply admired by his patients and staff. His professional achievements were matched by his devotion to his family.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Gail; his cherished daughters, Alaine and Andrea; his adored grandson, Aros; and his brother, Michael (Sharon) Coverman. His family was the center of his world, and he loved them with all his heart. Randy's legacy of love and dedication to his profession and family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Randy's memory to the Orlando Jewish Foundation, honoring his life and contributions to the community.
Funeral Services for Dr. Coverman were held at the Jacob "Yank" Frank Memorial Chapel at Temple Israel Cemetery (9302 Morton Jones Road, Gotha, FL) with Rabbi Joshua Neely of Temple Israel officiating. May he rest in peace and may his memory always be a blessing.
