On the morning of Feb. 6, the Jewish Chamber of Commerce hosted a free breakfast at One Senior Place. The event, led by Board President Harrison Shames, who also serves as the executive director of the Jewish National Fund, celebrated the holiday of Tu B'Shevat, a time for reflection on nature and growth.
Guests were treated to a delicious breakfast prepared by Chris Shepherd, manager of One Senior Place. The spread included fresh fruit, bagels with cream cheese, muffins, and yogurt. A special highlight was a challah French toast casserole, courtesy of Nancy Ludin from Jewish Pavilion Senior Services.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for networking and collaboration. Each of the 30 participants had the chance to introduce themselves and share information about their businesses. There was also a brief news clip shown, highlighting the opportunities available to Jewish business owners, including newly available minority grants.
As part of the program, Samantha Taylor from J Life Magazine and Lifetime Media presented some exciting ideas for expanding the chamber, including boosting its online presence through the Facebook page and encouraging friends to attend future breakfasts. The next breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, March 36, and will focus on the upcoming holiday of Purim.
Participants were encouraged to become members of the Jewish Chamber, with membership options available at different levels: $125, $300, or $500. For more information or to join, attendees were invited to visit the Chamber's website at http://www.jewish-chamber.com.
The breakfast was a successful and inspiring start to the year, bringing together members of the community for both professional development and a meaningful celebration of Tu B'Shevat.
