Obituary - CAROL A. ESNER (NÉE FUSS)

Carol Esner passed away peacefully on Feb. 28, 2025. She was born on Jan. 10, 1942, to Fred “Fritz” and Lillian (Haight) Fuss. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Fred, Ed, Richard, Don and Roger Fuss; and sisters, Peg Lohret, Shirley Collins and Lois Wildey.

Carol was the devoted wife and steadfast companion to her beloved husband, Irving Esner, who predeceased her in 2020. She was the loving mother to three daughters, Desiree Slone (Louis Slone), Joann Barody (d. 2002), and Carol-Ann Dooley (Blaine Dooley), as well as two stepdaughters, Heidi Lennick and Jodi Jones.

Carol was proud of her six grandchildren, Ben Hover (Brooke), William Sarro (d. 2024), Nicholina Sarro, Sarah Lennick Horowitz, Jaden Slone, and Madeline Dooley, along with her four great-grandchildren, Emma, Meghan, and Reese Hover, and Jemma Parker.

Carol had a passion for reading, painting, and gardening. Her heart was full of love for her family, and she found immense joy in being known as Bubbe, giving big hugs, and spending time with her cherished daughters and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Carol will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at noon at Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery (6034 Old Winter Garden Road, Orlando FL 32835) With Rabbi Steven Engel officiating. Following the service a luncheon to be held at the home of Desiree and Louis Slone.

Carol requested that memorial donations be made to Congregation of Reform Judaism Homeless Fund (928 Malone Drive, Orlando, Florida 32810)
